EXPLORING PLANTS: LEARNING THROUGH PLAYDOUGH

In first grade, learning about plants is hands-on, visual, and rooted in curiosity. Young learners explore basic ideas such as what plants need to grow, the main parts of a plant (roots, stem, leaves, and flowers), and how plants help living things.

To show their understanding, students engage in creative modelling using play dough during science class. By shaping roots, stems, leaves, and flowers, children turn abstract ideas into something concrete and meaningful. This playful approach allows learners to demonstrate understanding through action, and build fine motor skills at the same time. Modelling with play dough makes learning visible and fun.

CLASSROOM IN NATURE

Last week year 5 students had the chance of participating in a full inmersion programme in Espinosa de los Monteros. The programme consists of environmental lessons in the English language. Something new we learnt has to do with the 8’Rs’, we could observe how everybody 24 hours a day and 7days a week showed respect to the environment and cared for its protection.

SCIENCE MATTERS

SCIENCE MATTERS

In Year 6 we enjoy learning Science. As an example of that some six Year 6 students are representing our School in "Scratch Day" in Valladolid College. There, they will share their projects on Robotics together with same age students and they will take part in a workshop based on solving Challenges. They have been working extremely hard at home, in ICT lessons and during breaks that we are very excited to see how they perform. We want to shout out loud!!

GOOD LUCK FRIENDS!
