Creative Time Craft for 5th Graders: Learn While Having Fun!

 Teaching kids how to tell time can be challenging, but turning it into a hands-on activity makes it exciting and memorable. This DIY Paper Clock Craft is perfect for 5th graders—it combines creativity with practical learning.

Tongues Out and Cards Up! — Learning Body Parts the Fun Way!

 This week, our little artists from Year 3 of Infant Education had lots of fun learning the parts of the body. And what better way to do it than by colouring, cutting and playing games together?

First, everyone made their own mini flashcards. They coloured them beautifully and cut them out carefully. Some of them were working so hard that a few tiny tongues were sticking out! That’s how we know they were really concentrating!

When all the cards were ready, it was time to play!

Game 1: “Flip & Shout!”

All the cards went face down in the middle of the table. The children took turns turning one over. The first person to say the correct word won the card. There were lots of smiles, laughs and excited voices! The winner was the one with the biggest pile of cards.

Game 2: “Find It Fast!”

In this game, each child had their own set of flashcards. The teacher said a word — “nose!”, “ear!”, “leg!” — and everyone had to find that card as quickly as possible. The first to put it in the middle won not only the card but also the cards from their classmates. It was fast, funny and full of learning!

At the end, the classroom was full of happy faces, laughter and proud winners showing their cards. Learning the parts of the body has never been so much fun!

HALLOWEEN HAT PARADE 2nd EDITION

Halloween arrived, and with it, our second annual hat parade! 🎃

After making our hats at home and thinking about the designs, we brought them to school to decorate them and create terrifyingly fun and original hats! 

On Tuesday, we held our parade, and it was a super fun day because we got to see all the hats and parade with our own! 

Afterwards, we decorated the school hall with all the hats.

 It all looked so beautiful!

 And next year... bigger and better!

Families bring language to life!

In our language classroom, learning is even more fun when families join in! When moms, dads, or grandparents take part, children feel proud, happy, and more motivated to learn. As you can see here when we had a visit in Year one class.

Families bring songs, stories, and traditions that make the language come alive. Together, we create a warm, friendly space where everyone learns and grows. We were told information about their trip to Leeds, son on one hand we got to know better our classmate and on the other hand, we could explore new places in England.

HOW TO INTRODUCE GRAMMAR TO YOUNG LEARNERS

During all these courses we have had the excellent opportunity to have a native speaker person as a language assistant in our school. Along this year we will have Ella Lambert with us in Primary and Infants Education. Ella is from a village near Bath in England.

We would like to thank her for coming to our school and helping in this task of making us talk and communicate in English language.

In grade 4 we have finished our term, making up stories and acting them out. In small groups we picked a topic and transformed it by means of this graphic organizer. Then we splitted the characters, picked a setting and played it.

THE IMPORTANCE OF GIVING PRESENTATIONS

 Here we are talking about the importance of giving presentations in class and how this helps us all, using sports as an example.

Improving Our Communication Skills

Giving presentations is like being a sports commentator. We learn to explain our ideas clearly, just like a commentator describes a football or basketball game. 🏀⚽

Building Confidence

Speaking in front of our classmates is like starting a race. It can be a bit scary at first, but with practice, we become more confident, just like an athlete preparing for a big competition. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Encouraging Critical Thinking

Preparing a presentation is like planning a game strategy. We need to research and organize information, just like a coach plans the team's tactics. 🏈🏐

Promoting Creativity

Presentations allow us to be creative, like a gymnast performing a unique routine or a figure skater creating a beautiful performance. We can use pictures, charts, and videos to make our presentations more interesting. 🤸‍♀️⛸️

Encouraging Teamwork

Many presentations are done in groups, just like in team sports. We learn to work together, listen to, and respect each other's ideas, just like in a volleyball or handball team. 🏐🤾‍♂️

Preparing for the Future

In the professional world, presentations are an important skill, just like being fit and ready for competition is for an athlete. Being able to present information well is crucial, and by practicing from a young age, we will be better prepared for the future. 🏅
