ULTIMATE FRISBEE
Summer is coming! So it´s time to practice a new sport: Ultimate.
But, what is Ultimate?
It’s an exciting, non-contact
team sport played by thousands all over the world in Open, Mixed and Women’s
teams. Ultimate is a fast-paced game, demanding its players to develop razor
sharp throwing skills and immense stamina and agility.
Ultimate is
an intense sport but it’s also very newcomer friendly. The ‘Ultimate community‘
is something people often refer to and you can easily understand why, as the
opportunity for beginners to get involved and get competitive at a fun level
are widespread in lots of countries.
By the way,
it’s played with a flying disc called
Frisbee.
Here you have the basic rules
of Ultimate:
1.
Players cannot run with the
disc.
2.
Players are allowed to hold
the disc in their possession for a maximum of 10 seconds.
3.
Players are allowed to pivot
with disc.
4.
Non-contact sport.
5.
Each point begins with both
teams lining up on the front of their respective end zone line.
6.
When a pass in not completed
(e.g. out of bounds, dropped, blocked, intercepted), the defence immediately
takes possession of the disc and becomes the offence.
7.
Screens (defensas, “hacer
pantallas”) are allowed.
8.
Teams score by passing the
disc across their opponents defensive line.
9.
Each point begins with both
teams lining up on the front of their respective end zone line.
10.
The team that scored the
previous point pulls the disc to the opposing team
11.
If contact is made a foul
should be called.
