Minnesota is a state in the Great Lakes and northern regions of the United States.
The state has a large number of lakes, and is known by the slogan "Land of 10,000 Lakes".
Minnesota experiences temperature extremes characteristic of its continental climate, with cold winters and hot summers. The lowest temperature recorded was −51 °C in 1996.
