The crust´s movements

THE CRUST´S MOVEMENTS AND THE EARTH´S MAJOR TECTONIC PLATES

Hello everyone!
How are you doing?
As you know, Earth´s crust is always moving! It moves so slowly that we don´t notice it. But, sometimes, it moves quickly enough to felt or seen, or even both! This movements can cause earthquakes. Earthquakes are related to cracks in the Earth´s crust calle faults. The faults may have formed from earlier earthquakes.
If we want to understand something better the crust´s movements, we have to pay attention to the "Plate tectonics theory". So, from the deepest ocean trench to the tallest mountain, plate tectonics explains the features and movement of Earth´s surface in the past and in the present. Plate tectonics theory says that Earth´s outer shell is divided into seven major plates that glide over the mantle. The seven plates are: African, Antartic, Eurasian, North American, South American, India-Australian and the Pacific plates.
You can learn something more about the crust´s movements and the tectonic plates in this video. Enjoy!
