GETTING READY FOR MARDI GRAS!

Carnival is coming… and our five-year-olds couldn’t be more excited!

This week we learned all about Mardi Gras. We looked at colourful photos and short videos of the festival, and we also listened to a fun song: “Dancing at the Mardi Gras” (The Kiboomers Preschool Songs & Nursery Rhymes for Circle Time). The children loved moving and dancing along while learning about the celebration.

Then it was time to get creative! The children painted their very own Mardi Gras masks, using lots of bright colours and a little bit of glitter. There were big smiles, messy hands and lots of fun – just like a real carnival!

Mardi Gras is all about music, dancing and joy, and our classroom became a little festival of its own. Well done, everyone – your masks are fabulous!

What Do You Wear When It’s Hot or Cold? 👕❄️☀️

Brrr… it’s cold! Or is it sunny and hot? Our little learners have been finding out in English!

This week our three-year-olds started a new topic: clothes. We used a big poster with the question “What do you wear when…?” and two sections: when it’s cold and when it’s hot.

The children took turns choosing a clothing picture and deciding where it belongs. Is a coat for hot weather… or cold weather? They loved coming up to the poster and sticking the pictures in the right place!

We also sang fun clothes songs like “Put On Your Boots” (Super Simple Songs). There was lots of singing, moving and pretending to get dressed. 🎶👢

Learning at this age is all about play, action and smiles. And we had plenty of those! The children are doing a fantastic job learning new words in English. Well done, everyone! 👏

EXPLORING PLANTS: LEARNING THROUGH PLAYDOUGH

In first grade, learning about plants is hands-on, visual, and rooted in curiosity. Young learners explore basic ideas such as what plants need to grow, the main parts of a plant (roots, stem, leaves, and flowers), and how plants help living things.

To show their understanding, students engage in creative modelling using play dough during science class. By shaping roots, stems, leaves, and flowers, children turn abstract ideas into something concrete and meaningful. This playful approach allows learners to demonstrate understanding through action, and build fine motor skills at the same time. Modelling with play dough makes learning visible and fun.

GET READY FOR PEACE DAY!

We are so excited to announce that we have started our preparations for Peace Day

At our school, we believe that peace is something we build together every day, and what better way to celebrate it than through music and dance?
